The Port of Tauranga Half
Welcome from Sport Bay of Plenty Please join with us to celebrate our 22nd birthday at the Port of Tauranga Half to be held at Mount Maunganui on Saturday 8 January, 2011. It’s the longest running half ironman distance race in the country and the events popularity grows every year, not only because it’s a great race but it’s also such a fun place to visit in the height of summer.
We are thrilled to announce that the Port of Tauranga will again be the naming sponsor for the 20th straight year which is quite remarkable. The Ports relationship with the event is second to none and I am sure you will join me in thanking them for their association with the event over such a long period.
Sport Bay of Plenty have again contracted the services of The Patter to deliver the event and we are fortunate to have such a passionate team on board led by Jane Patterson, Event Manager Janette Blyth and Event Director, Ted Pearce . We are also indebted to our group of volunteer directors and local groups who provide the marshalls and support personnel needed to run a professional and safe event. The Port of Tauranga Half Ironman is a must-do race for every triathletes – an outstanding race in a wonderful setting and in front of a massive crowd. Take the time also to check out the Craigs Investment PartnersTinman event which is an ideal lead up event to the Half Ironman, held on the same course in early December. We look forward to hosting you again at Mount Maunganui. Wayne Werder CEO, Sport Bay of Plenty |
