Our team at Port of Tauranga is proud to celebrate the Port of Tauranga Half with the Bay of Plenty community.  Port of Tauranga has been a supporter of the event from its inception in 1990, and in 2011 will have been a sponsor for twenty of those years.

From small beginnings, the Port of Tauranga Half has become a recognised major event, featuring in both national and international sporting calendars.  Although it is regarded as a prestigious race by those pro-athletes who are regular participants, this sporting fixture still leaves room for those of us who are absolute beginners.

The principles of Port of Tauranga complement those of the Half Ironman distance event: excellence is gained through the will to succeed, the setting of goals and the commitment to see the planning and preparation through to the end.  Whether competing as an individual or as part of a team, groundwork must be put in to secure the rewards.
